District Vocational Education Training office (DVETO) Sangli was established in 1984 to bring out various activities related to technical education at all levels in Sangli district. Role of the office is to conduct, control and guide various technical educational activities at district level under the department of Technical Education up to August 2015 and then under department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship since 2 September 2015. It is responsible for all skill development efforts, removal of disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower, building the vocational and technical framework, skill up gradation, building of new skills and innovative thinking for existing as well as new jobs at district level under the guidance of under Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Directorate of Vocational Education and Training. DVETO conducts and controls the above work through Industrial Training Institutes (Government and Private), Technical High schools (Government and Private), Pre SSC Vocational Education, +2 Level (HSC) Vocational Education, +2 Level Bifocal Vocational Education (Aided and unaided institutes), certificate courses (under Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Education Examination).
